The workpress silobuilder plugin is for sale.
Ok, so what is the big deal about that?
The silo builder will reorganize your blog and postings will be linked together according to relevancy rather than time of posting.
How does the SiloBuilder work
This is what the SiloBuilder can creat from your existing blog.
The SiloBuilder can only do this if you have more than 1 category.
Let us take an example of a blog about pets with 4 categories.
Cats, dogs, horses and rabbits
I did the following posts.
Without the SiloBuilder you will have a link your post to the next one you have written
So here my cats1 post have a link to cats2
The next cats post have a link back to the cats category and a links to the first dogs post.
The dogs post link to cats2 and horses1. Not relevant at all
Horses post 1 is no better, linking to dogs1 and cats3
When you install and enable the SiloBuilder then this link navigation will change.
You will now get the following
We start again with the first cats post
Which links to the second one, just like without the SiloBuilder.
But there is already a difference. The link to cats2 have moved and all other links on the page have (automatically) been changed to nofollow.
[ I use SeqQuake to show this, the line through indicates no follow ] The cats 2 post now have a link to cats3
We are now on a category page, and almost all links are nofollow
(There is no line through pages as they had follow enabled when we installed)
One reason for the SiloBuilder is to link relevant articles together, so search engines can rank our site higher. So to ensure this we now need to direct the search engine down through the dogs articles. But as you see we have (almost) all links nofollowed on this page.
In the end of the page [ you really must scroll down ] is a new link (you see the small dogs1) written there.
This is the link that the search engine can follow. It is dog post number 1 since that was the first posted and that is the place we want the search engine to start.
NOTHING changes in your blog articles and database and if you disable the SiloBuilder then the initial navigation is immediately restored.
The navigation with the SiloBuilder is generated dynamically when posting is submitted. You can also go the then Settings and click RefreshDB if you have changed structure, categories or removed posts. If you are autoposting and the autoposter can add the posts in different categories then they will immediately be ‘put’ in the right place.
If you have only one category with all your posts or hundreds of categories with one post then the SiloBuilder will not change anything in your navigation and is not going to help.
Also if you have a blog with 2 categories and 3 posts in each, the silobuilder is not going to get you to position one in Google.
You need relevant posts in relevant categories. The Silobuilder will then organize them so the search engines will get the most relevant linking.
